I can honestly say I have never been as nervous as I was waiting outside the ceremony room and I think Glenn felt the same! With the help of his best man, Jake, they seated all 50 of our guests and then had to wait for me to arrive! Luckily, I stayed in the hotel the night before so there was no traffic hold up! I was about 5 minutes late as the registrar speaks to you before and this over ran slightly. I was a nervous wreck when it turned 12 and she hadn’t come up to see me!
I had Glenn’s sister and three of my best friends stood in front of me, my sister behind me and my Dad holding my arm tightly as we waited for the music to start. My four bridesmaids walked down before me and then I followed, with Kate, my sister, following behind. I walked in to a song called Gracefully by a band called Vintage Trouble. Both myself and Glenn really love this band, and it’s a beautiful song.
The next 20 minutes passed in what felt like a few seconds. We said our vows to one another, and exchanged rings, sealing it all with a kiss. There were tears and laughter and it was a lovely, intimate gathering of all of our friends and family watching us.
We then signed the register, with both of our mums as our witnesses. And queue everyone in the room taking photos of us! It was so surreal!
We then left together as Mr and Mrs Hampson! We were greeted with a glass of champagne and were able to take a few second to let it all sink in before our guests came outside to cover us in confetti! Such a cute tradition!
After chatting to our friends and family, we made our way down to the lawn at the side of the hotel to have our formal photos taken.
