Hello! I am back from my holiday (a post with lots of pictures is coming very soon!) in Tunisia, where I got the first tan I have ever had! With 6 days to go until moving-in day, all things ‘homely’ are right at the top of my list at the moment! We bought a sofa and a dressing table today, which will be a little project in making it a little more ‘me’ with some white paint and a bit of sand paper! Today, I’m thinking about the kitchen. I want our kitchen to be colourful and inviting and make it a place that feels homely and inspiring when we are cooking. Colour isn’t something I embrace a lot in fashion, especially bright or clashing colours, so I thought it would be fun to use it in our new house instead, even if the colours are a softer shade than all this neon colour that is popular at the moment!

My main colours that have come together to make the colour palette is blush rose, steel blue and aquamarine, but really, any hint of colour goes!
I’m a little obsessed with polka dots, as you can see from my chosen set of cutlery from Tesco and the three gorgeous heart shaped dishes over on Not On The High Street. I can just imagine coming home from a hard day and using these to put a smile on my face – it really is the small things!
We have already purchased the chalkboard memo board from The Range – myself and Glenn are both very forgetful so leaving notes to remind each other about everything is essential! We also have the oven glove, which also had matching tea towels, and the mason jars. These came from Argos and I have some chalkboard paint, which I want to paint a splodge of onto each one (we have 4) and then write the names for coffee, tea, sugar and hot chocolate!
This cake stand took my fancy which is from Not On The High Street, but I have inherited a whole tea set from my Nanna, which is currently in my parents loft, so I think it’s time it got used and loved!
Finally, this butter dish made my heart melt! Cute, colourful illustrations always win me over and this would be perfect on the counter.
What do you love about your kitchen and what have you bought for it recently?
