As many of you will know, I am about to start a very exciting internship at Clarks. In a couple of days time I will be driving home to Somerset to begin my month long work experience which will hopefully leave me with lots of experiences and lessons learned! I will be working with the graphic design and art department, working on various projects along the way. I am so excited and feel very lucky to be working for such a trusted and established company! Of course I want to make an impression while I am there so I was exited to start planning my outfits for the month! The dress code is “smart/casual”. Honestly, I had no idea what that meant! I’ve gathered from searching on the internet that it basically means no scruffy clothes such as holey jeans or scuffed up trainers, so I began to plan…
I started off by picking out my key pieces: a smart dress, simple trousers and a few colourful blouses. Once that was done, I bought myself a few pairs of smart shoes and picked out my accessories. Here’s what I have come up with! Smart/casual without being boring!

By picking out key pieces I can wear them with different shoes, accessories and hairstyles to mix the looks up. Which one is your favourite? Do you have a dress code, a uniform or can you wear anything you want? Let me know!
p.s who likes my attempt at drawing?!

The drawings are very impressive indeed
It’s something I’ve always wished I could do, is draw.. But alas, no chance I’m afaid. I somehow make even stick men look ridiculously crap!
Particularly loving the look of the DPs dress & the Primark moccasins in the 2nd pic – yum
My dress code is officially ‘smart/casual’ – but it was specified to me on the first day that in this work place it meant NO denim.
I work in a secondary school, so my general rule is that skirts can’t be too short & tops can’t be low cut – the joys of working with teenage boys (they don’t need any encouragement!)

I work in computing, so I am the only female in the office. We are “smart/casual” (and was told no denim!) but a number of the guys wear scruffy jeans/combats etc. I tend to wear linen trousers or black jeans and nice tops. I then either wear pumps or as it get colder my Bearpaw chocolate boots will come out. Enjoy Somerset, I lived in Taunton for a year doing a sandwhich placement for uni, I loved it! If I could, I would move back in a heartbeat, I miss it so much! Good luck xx
