Love Your Mum

There is no one in the world that you want to treat or deserves to be treated, more than your mum! She is your mum, best friend, biggest fan and best of all, the one person you can always talk to, whenever you need her. So what do you get her for Mother’s Day? (In the UK anyway, I know you Americans have it a little later in the year!)  If your stuck for something to buy for next Sunday, www.giftandwrap.co.uk have a selection of Pandora gifts especially for Mother’s Day. I’ve chosen my favourites, I think they are especially lovely for soon to be mums and mums with young babies (take note husbands/partners/boyfriends!).

Some of my Favourite Things…

This lovely cake tin was a Christmas present from my parents. I spotted one similar in a shop while on holiday with them, but after a quick stop for a takeaway coffee, we didn’t get chance to go back to the shop! It’s perfect for storing lots of yummy cupcakes!

I love having plants in our kitchen, it makes it feel a lot fresher and brighter. I would love to start growing some potted herbs in 2013.

This beautiful vintage camera was a a birthday present from Glenn. Unfortunately, it’s no longer in working order, but it does look just lovely on my camera shelf, next to my Polaroid, Lomography Fish Eye and Instax cameras. The cute candle was a Christmas present from my sister. It smells amazing and the cute ‘lamp’ that sits on top is perfect when watching a film on the sofa.

Charlie was bound to make it into this post somehow! He is the most beautiful cat I have ever seen and he is so cheeky, charming and naughty – but we still love him lots!

I bought Glenn this simple oil bottle for Christmas. With the added ribbon, I think it looks great next to our Kilner jars. Another addition to our kitchen was a mini bunting that Glenn bought me for Christmas. Its great at just adding a little bit of colour in an otherwise plain corner.

The best gift I received this year was my long awaited camera lens! I had saved up money to buy the body, a Canon 1100D, and I added the lens to my Christmas list. I’ve wanted to buy an DSLR again for quite a while, so I am really loving having one in my hands and taking lots of photos! I also received a lovely new bag to keep my camera safe. I definitely didn’t want the normal boring ‘tourist’ camera bag, so I had a look over at eBay, and found this bargain! It’s big enough to hold my camera and the lens, with room to fit my phone and purse in, but not too big that you feel like you are carrying a holdall!

My recent purchase from Topshop, with a Christmas gift card and a beautiful print, framed and gifted to us by Glenn’s mum.

I’m a sucker for a pretty piece of stationary, so when I found out that Frankie magazine sell a journal each year, I knew I had to have it. I tried to buy it last year but they sold out super quick, so as soon as I could, I asked for the 2013 one for Christmas! It has the prettiest illustrations, budget and lists pages and stickers – amazing!

Cute tin for my perfumes! The amount of times I have knocked over my perfume bottles (and Charlie too!) meant I have been searching for the perfect way to store them – and when I received this cute tin for my birthday, I knew straight away what I would be using it for!

Even though I work in a coffee shop, there is nothing I love more than coming home, sitting on the sofa and having a coffee made from my Tassimo machine with a biscuit or two!

A selection of rings that I am loving at the moment! The jewel owl ring was sent to me from Your Fashion Jewellery. It’s so beautiful and it looks great as a feature piece of jewellery.

My main New Years resolution was to start treating my skin a little better! I’ve started using a blackhead cleanser, which makes my skin so clean and soft, followed by a soothing toner and a hydrating moisturiser, along with cleansing wipes. I’m trying to do it every morning and night, so hopefully I can keep it up!

Green with Envy

Before I got engaged, I always dropped hints to Glenn about what kind of ring I would want; colour, shape, design… and in the end, he did a pretty good job in finding one that was exactly what I had wanted and also held special meaning to him! My top three stones were amethyst, emerald and sapphire. My beautiful amethyst ring with two diamonds either side is exactly what I had imagined… but lets just pretend Glenn had chosen emerald. These rings would have been very much welcomed on my finger! Check out Rocks TV for more!

Diamonds Are A Girls Best Friend

I am obsessed with sparkly, pretty jewellery at the moment! I’m going to be looking for jewellery to wear on my wedding day soon,  so I’ve been keeping an eye out for something that will fit what I have in mind. I found some cute gold jewellery at Pepperpink.com. I love the heart shape rings, which would look lovely worn on their own or with other simple bands. I’m really loving simple, dainty rings at the moment, which is reflected in my choice of wedding ring!

I also fell in love with some dainty earrings from Gems TV. I love the blue and yellow ’8′ shaped studs and you can visit the Gems TV website to buy diamond earrings online.

I also love the big sparkly diamond engagement rings from Durrants London. I already have my lovely ring but if you are looking for engagement jewellery, it’s definitely somewhere to have a browse!

I also had a look at some Pandora jewellery, which I found at John Greed Jewellery’s website. They have such lovely charm bracelets and their complete charm bracelets are so cute!

What is your favourite piece of jewellery and what are you longing for at the moment?

Wedding Ring Shopping!

One of the most important decisions while planning our wedding has been trying to find the perfect wedding ring. My dress, the flowers, the cake – they are all important, but the ring will be on your finger forever, and every time I look at it, I want to love it, just like I love my husband! When I first thought about the style I would like, I thought I would want a plain and simple gold band, but after shopping around and having a test trying-on session, I realised that maybe that wasn’t going to be enough for the diamond-loving-girl inside of me!

One of the main stores I have been browsing through, and the one I went into to get my finger sized up, was H.Samuel. It’s the jewellery shop that comes to mind first when I’m looking for a piece of important jewellery, and they have a great selection of wedding rings. Here are my favourites at the moment from their website H.Samuel.co.uk, although this could all change!

1. 9ct Yellow Gold Quarter Carat Diamond Band – £449

2. 9ct Gold Band – £119

3. 9ct Yellow Gold Cross Over Diamond Band – £349

4. 9ct Yellow Gold and Rhodium Diamond Band – £349
