Caseable Review

I don’t really transport my laptop around that much anymore. When I went to university, it came with me to and from the campus pretty much every day, but now it just lives on my desk or on the floor next to my sofa! However, I still use my cupcake laptop case to store it in, especially with a cheeky cat around who loves to lie on everything he is not allowed to lie on! So when Caseable asked me if I would like one of their products, I jumped at the chance!

You can choose a case for your phone, tablet, laptop and more, and the best thing about this company is that you can have ANY photo or design on your case! If you prefer, you can also choose from lots of designs already on the website, but I wanted something personal. I chose an image to put onto my laptop case that I took during a photo shoot at Uni of a pink blossom tree in a park. The colours in the image are quite vibrant, so I was dubious about how the colour would come out on the case.

When I received the case, I was honestly surprised at the quality of the print. The colours were amazing and the image quality was brilliant. The case has soft padding on the inside to protect your electronic and the zip seems pretty sturdy.

Now I’m just waiting for them to bring out a case for my Galaxy Note 2!

Some of my Favourite Things…

This lovely cake tin was a Christmas present from my parents. I spotted one similar in a shop while on holiday with them, but after a quick stop for a takeaway coffee, we didn’t get chance to go back to the shop! It’s perfect for storing lots of yummy cupcakes!

I love having plants in our kitchen, it makes it feel a lot fresher and brighter. I would love to start growing some potted herbs in 2013.

This beautiful vintage camera was a a birthday present from Glenn. Unfortunately, it’s no longer in working order, but it does look just lovely on my camera shelf, next to my Polaroid, Lomography Fish Eye and Instax cameras. The cute candle was a Christmas present from my sister. It smells amazing and the cute ‘lamp’ that sits on top is perfect when watching a film on the sofa.

Charlie was bound to make it into this post somehow! He is the most beautiful cat I have ever seen and he is so cheeky, charming and naughty – but we still love him lots!

I bought Glenn this simple oil bottle for Christmas. With the added ribbon, I think it looks great next to our Kilner jars. Another addition to our kitchen was a mini bunting that Glenn bought me for Christmas. Its great at just adding a little bit of colour in an otherwise plain corner.

The best gift I received this year was my long awaited camera lens! I had saved up money to buy the body, a Canon 1100D, and I added the lens to my Christmas list. I’ve wanted to buy an DSLR again for quite a while, so I am really loving having one in my hands and taking lots of photos! I also received a lovely new bag to keep my camera safe. I definitely didn’t want the normal boring ‘tourist’ camera bag, so I had a look over at eBay, and found this bargain! It’s big enough to hold my camera and the lens, with room to fit my phone and purse in, but not too big that you feel like you are carrying a holdall!

My recent purchase from Topshop, with a Christmas gift card and a beautiful print, framed and gifted to us by Glenn’s mum.

I’m a sucker for a pretty piece of stationary, so when I found out that Frankie magazine sell a journal each year, I knew I had to have it. I tried to buy it last year but they sold out super quick, so as soon as I could, I asked for the 2013 one for Christmas! It has the prettiest illustrations, budget and lists pages and stickers – amazing!

Cute tin for my perfumes! The amount of times I have knocked over my perfume bottles (and Charlie too!) meant I have been searching for the perfect way to store them – and when I received this cute tin for my birthday, I knew straight away what I would be using it for!

Even though I work in a coffee shop, there is nothing I love more than coming home, sitting on the sofa and having a coffee made from my Tassimo machine with a biscuit or two!

A selection of rings that I am loving at the moment! The jewel owl ring was sent to me from Your Fashion Jewellery. It’s so beautiful and it looks great as a feature piece of jewellery.

My main New Years resolution was to start treating my skin a little better! I’ve started using a blackhead cleanser, which makes my skin so clean and soft, followed by a soothing toner and a hydrating moisturiser, along with cleansing wipes. I’m trying to do it every morning and night, so hopefully I can keep it up!

Moo Giveaway

A couple of days ago I received a package containing some brand new business cards that I had ordered from Moo. I’m sure most of you will have heard about Moo before, but if you haven’t let me tell you a little bit about them!

Moo is an online printing business. They print business cards, stickers, labels, postcards, greeting cards and much more! They offer creative designs for you to use or you can upload your own. After using them for the first time in back in 2010, I was incredibly happy with the quality of my cards when I received them. I loved giving them out to people as they looked so professional and the paper quality was brilliant.

As I coming to the end of my degree, I decided it was time for a new set (the old ones had my old number and email address anyway!) So I popped back onto Moo’s website, and ordered a set of 50. I picked the standard business card, but they also offer Luxe (if you want extra thickness and quality), Rounded Corner, Mini and Facebook Cards, which are free for a limited time! (exluding P&P) You can also choose to have 50, 100, 150 or 200 cards and each card is lovingly printed on 350gsm paper.

You can also buy Postcards, Greeting Cards, Stickers and Labels, perfect if you are starting up a small business or maybe organising stationary for a party! Check out their accessories page too for card holders, frames, envelopes and even desk accessories!

So, now you know who they are, I bet you are wishing you could own some beautiful business cards, right? Well, you can! Read below!

Wedding Planner

Ever since getting engaged at Christmas, I have had wedding fever! I’ve been watching Don’t Tell The Bride, buying numerous wedding magazines, getting a whole lot of inspiration over on Pinterest, and most importantly, starting my wedding folder!

I love being organised. I buy about 5 diaries a year, just because I love filling them out and putting all of my important dates in. I also love making lists, sometimes ending up with lists for my lists, so it was inevitable that I would start a wedding planner!

I used a pink folder that I had already, and I plan to collage it with lots of pretty wedding images from magazine to make it a bit more special. I think A4 is a good size as it gives you enough room to put in tear sheets from magazines. I also used this pack from Bubbo over on Etsy. You get a PDF which you can then print out onto whatever paper you like and you can pick and choose which sheets you use!

Inside the planner!

  • Front page – This is just a nice cover with our names, chosen date, location, email and website on. I haven’t decided whether to start a wedding site or not yet – did you?
  • Planner – I printed off two planning calendars – one each for 2012 and 2013. There’s just enough room to put major dates in such as when to ring the registrar and when you have a dress fitting.
  • Details – This page will help me keep track of decisions I have made about my big day, such as season, colours, style, videography and photography style, ceremony and reception place and music and dining style.
  • Timeline – This is the ultimate checklist! It starts at 6 month or more before and goes right up to the big day! It will remind me of things such as when to buy wedding rings, when to have the final fitting of my dress, when to write wedding vows and more!
  • Wedding Day Schedule – This is step-by-step plan of the big day – ranging from pre-ceremony preparations to the evening party. I also printed of an hour by hour schedule too so I can write in my own details.
  • Emergency Kit – I couldn’t resist putting this into the folder! It lists all the things I might need but might forget to take with me on my wedding day. It has a section for the bride, groom and bridesmaids and best man.
  • Budget – This is essential for me as I am rubbish at keeping a count of how much I have spent. It has sections for ceremony and reception, photography, music, stationary, flowers, outfits and gifts and extras, including an average percentage of how much each section normally takes up of the budget. There are 3 columns – budgeted amount, vendor estimate and amount spent.
  • Purchase – This is a simple sheet where I can track everything I have bought, with space to record date, quantity, item, notes and price.
  • Contacts – A place to keep all company contacts that I will need during the whole planning process.
  • Bridal Party Contact List – This allows me to keep all contact details (phone number, email address and any special assignments) of the bridal party in one place.

  • Guest List – I changed this sheet slightly to fit to my needs as it included a section for an engagement party which I didn’t need. Instead, I added a section for the meal, so I could note down what each person had chosen from the menu. Here, I can track when a save the date is sent, when the invitation is sent, if a RSVP has been received and how many are coming from that invite. I can also note down what gift they gave us and when we have sent a thank you card.
  • Photography – This is a checklist of all possible shots to be take on the day, put into categories of portraits, pre-wedding, ceremony and reception.
  • Flowers – This sheet is a space to record what flowers we are going to have for each section of the wedding and it also lists flowers which are around each season. I have also put in a mood board with this.
  • Reception Seating – Planning tables has been quite easy for us, which I think is a rarity, so these are filled in already!
  • Menu – We have chosen our menu options and so I have printed this out so I have it to hand.
  • Venue – In this poly pocket I keep all letters from the venue, including payment confirmation and any other details they send us. I’ve also kept the brochure that first made us fall in love with it!
  • Attire – This section includes mood boards for my dress, accessories, hair and makeup, Glenn’s suit and bridesmaid dresses. I’ve also printed off my own information sheets for each, so we can track where everything is from and how much it cost.
  • Ideas – This is a mood board table decorations and decorations that could be used in the venue.
  • Stationary – I printed of an information sheet so I could remember all the different things I would need, (I’m making my own stationary!) such as save the date, invitations, RSVP cards, maps and so on! I’ve also got a mood board for this!
  • Wedding Cake – Information sheet includes name, address, number and email of the baker, cake style, filling, extras, size, price, deposit and delivery date. I’ve added a mood board for this too!
  • Example – In the pack you also get examples of how to write an invitation and a RSVP card so I have popped this in the back just in case.

My planner isn’t neat or tidy as I have everything in there from seat plans and guest lists to creative mood boards for my dress, but I like it that way! I like that I can just shove a page from a magazine in there if I like it or take something out if it isn’t relevant anymore.

If you have planned your wedding, how did you do it?

Amber Filofax

People who know me well enough, know that I LOVE being organised. I’m messy and a little scatty when it comes to clothes and keeping my flat clean, but I am the Queen of lists, to do’s and alphabetically arranging everything! I had a Moleskine and a iPhone, which were working well enough for me, but I wanted something a bit more exciting! I also love putting pen to paper so the calender on my iPhone just wasn’t cutting it.

I remember being about 9 years old and having a Spice Girls Filofax for Christmas and I remember, even at a young age, loving the process of filling out the personal information slip and writing in my diary about my day. Now, it’s more about keeping track of the hours I work and where I need to be and when, but the magic was still there. I’d be thinking about getting one for a while but wasn’t sure about what Filofaxes contained these days. I wasn’t sure if they would work for me. That was until I saw Gala’s post about her new Filofax! I was sold, and I logged onto the Filofax website and started my search.

I knew I wanted a personal size, which is 95mm x 171mm. It’s small enough for slotting into a handbag but also big enough to carry all your important dates and notes! If you aren’t sure which size is good for you, they have a very helpful size guide, which details all the sizes of each Filofax!

Once I knew which size I wanted I had to choose which style! I was looking with a budget in mind, so some were out of reach immediately, but the best thing about Filofax is there is something for everyone! They come as cheap as £20, so you really can afford to treat yourself to one. I finally decided on the Metropol in Amber. It came with lots of accessories and at £24, I felt I could buy some extras for it as well! But if you are unlike me, and you are looking to spend more on your Filofax, here’s a little collage of my favourite Filofaxes!

Finsbury Personal Organiser in Raspberry, Filofax Classic Personal Organiser in Cherry and Siena Personal Organiser in Cinnamon.

I eagerly awaited the arrival of my Filofax and when it eventually got to me, I was so excited to open it and start using it!

My Filofax came with the following:

Transparent pocket, 2010/2011 diary week across 2 pages, ruler day marker, to do pages, white ruled notepad, cream 1-6 number index, world map & cream address index. (I took out all the info pages and the world map.)

Extras I bought for my Filofax:

Business card holder, extra to do pages, week per page with notes 2010 diary, cream plain notepaper, coloured ruled notepaper, cream subject index & assorted sticky notes.

So now you know what I’ve got in my Filofax, here’s how I have organised it all… yes I actually wrote a list to organise the different sections!

First of all I have all my bank cards and store cards in the card slot section on the inside of the cover. I also have a green pen to write with.

I then have the clear envelope with little things in such as passport photos and receipts and my business card holder.

Next up is my timetable sheet (perfect for when I go back to Uni!) and my diary. I bought a different diary for my Filofax because I prefer to have a whole week on one page and then a section for notes on the opposite page.

I then have my address section, which is very useful for me because I always have to ask my parents for family friends address’ so now I can write them all down in one place and not keep losing them!

I then have my 6 different sections, with note paper in each section. The sections are as follows:

To-do (to-do paper), lists (pink ruled paper), doodles (cream plain paper), Belle Fantaisie (peach ruled paper), 5 is unoccupied! (blue ruled paper) & Love (lilac ruled paper).

And at the back I have sticky notes ready to create a rainbow throughout my diary and a little notepad for jotting down anything and everything!

I’m completely in love with my filofax right now. It goes everywhere with me and is just the perfect little organiser. I can’t wait until I go back to university so I can use it to the maximum!
