Happy New Year!

Well it’s that time again where we say goodbye to one year and a big hello to a new one! 2012 has been a good year for me; I’ve started a new job, moved house and planned lots for my wedding! 2013 is looking like a good one too… if only for the reason that I’m getting married in this year! I really am looking forward to the next 12 months and everything that is coming with it!

here’s a little look at some of my outfits from 2012! As you can see from the array of scarves, coats and tights in the ones above, summer was pretty much non-existent, so I’m hoping for a good summer in 2013, especially around the end of August for our wedding day!

My new years resolutions are as follows:

  • Eat healthier and start exercising so I fit into my wedding dress
  • Start a new beauty regime – I’m particularly bad at cleaning, moisturising and all that stuff!

What are yours and what are you looking forward to in 2013? Happy New Year!

Happy Diamond Jubilee!

Happy Diamond Jubilee everyone! Although I am not necessarily a Royal family follower, I do think it is rather amazing that one woman has been running our country for so long, and I am more than happy to celebrate along with everyone, waving a flag, enjoying a cup of tea and having a couple of pieces of English fudge!

The dress is courtesy of George at Asda, who also sent me the beautiful table cloth, the flags, the Union Jack plates, the Jubilee cup and saucer and the delicious fudge and marzipan by Emma Bridgwater. They asked me to pick a dress that represented a certain decade from the Queen’s reign, and as soon as I saw this strawberry print, 50′s style dress, I instantly fell in love with it! It has a diamond cut out back too, and will definitely be coming out a lot during this summer!

Here is my take on a British Diamond Jubilee tea party and it also gives you a sneak peak at our new garden! We picked up the keys on Friday and will be moving in on the 23rd! Exciting!

Carousel’s Pop-Up Shop

Last Saturday, I held an event to launch my new magazine, Carousel. There were biscuits, glasses of lemonade, balloons, a photo booth, Salvage clothing and issue one ready to read! Here are some photos from the day taken by Glenn!

And what I wore:

Miss Selfridge dress and Jeffrey Campbell shoes.

Aussie Lusciously Light Summer Soiree!

On Saturday, myself and my friend Lisa hopped on the coach to London to attend the much anticipated Summer Soiree being held by the lovely ladies at Aussie! It was all to celebrate the Lusciously Light Conditioners that Aussie offers (they really are so lovely!) and a chance for all Aussie Angels from North and South to get together!

Wearing: Dorothy Perkins dress, H&M belt, flowers and ring, Topshop necklace and earrings & Jeffrey Campbell shoes.

When we first arrived, we went straight to the hairstyling room! The photos above shoe my hair as it was when I arrived (right) and after I had had it styled (left)!

Having our hair restyled! I went for an ultra curly style with a spiralled fringe and Lisa had big volumous curls to give her hair more volume!

You may have noticed the candyfloss! I really couldn’t have been more excited when I saw the machine, topped with a red and white stripey hood! We all had a go at making our own and I was quite impressed by my attempt! IT was a lot of fun and very messy. I ended up with most of it in my hair and on my dress!

After having our hair styled and having fun with the candyfloss, we were treated to an amazing lunch! Lots of lovely salad, pasta and healthy yummyness! It was followed by a realllly good cheesecake and champagne testing – could it of got any better?! Yes, it could, there was also a bubble machine! Heaven!

(I can’t help but think of school photos when I look at these ones! Hehe!)

Remember those two scary girls in The Shining? Yep, that’s what we were going for!

Thanks for such a lovely day Aussie, can’t wait to see what is up your sleeve for us next!

Aussie Hair Appointment at Tommy Guns

Just before my holiday, I made my way to Tommy Guns in Soho to get my hair done. It was all on Aussie as a treat for our Lusciously Light challenge to try out different styles and colours! As you know, I am on a hair journey at the moment, hopefully soon arriving at a lilac/blonde/grey colour. So I opted for a all over trim and a colour.

When I finally found the salon (I am SO rubbish with directions!) I was pleasantly surprised at how awesome the salon looked! It has a purple, black and white interior them and there are “hollywood” style lights around the big mirrors. I loved it! I felt like a VIP when I walked in being offered a glass of wine!

Once there I was pampered and fussed over for over 2 hours! I had my roots bleached and the rest of my hair lightened and toned. I then had my fringe and length trimmed.

What do you think?!
